ZAFIRAH (Victorious)
"Belly dancing has literly saved my life.  I have found a way to exercise and have fun at the same time.  Belly dancing gives me something to strive for because I don't just want to dance, I want to be good at it.  Belly dance has given me confiedence in myself and made me feel beautiful as a woman.  It is very empowring.  I think this belly dance can help women with low self-esteem and/or have been in an abusive relationships."
Helena Zahara
(Guiding Star)
"I learned to dance from my mother.  When mothers and daughters share fun  activites they learn to like each other.   I think the important most thing I learned is to dance for  enjoyment.  If you love what you are doing, you will naturally spend time at it and you will improve.  As we accomplish small tasks we learn confidence to cope with bigger challenges."

"I have been dancing since 2006 and I absolutely love it!  I never really danced much growing up,and since I began belly dancing it's like we're a perfect match.  The earthiness of the dance movement is very natural, and for me  personally, its been changing my life. I feel more comforable in my body, and I am able to express myself more freely, physically and verbally. I have escaped from my cacoon and I am flying free.

"My interest in belly dance began with my participation in SCA. I becan taking belly dance lessons to develop my persona.  My character in SCA is a concubine for the Sultan of Damascus.  A guard now of the caravan, Bryan Mac Fillipe from the Knight Templas saved the Sultan from death and I was gifted to him.   I began classes with Badriya and an now taking classes with Helena.   I now feel the true spirit of the dance and want to continue with the troupe."
